Pakistan announces a new oil and gas discovery in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

PESHAWAR, 21 JANUARY / WAM / The Pakistan Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced the discovery of new oil and gas reserves in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, in an important development for the energy sector in Pakistan.

The company said, in a disclosure to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, that the “Barghzai X-1” well, located in Kohat Governorate, began producing about 3,100 barrels of crude oil per day.

The Pakistani News Agency quoted the company as confirming that it had achieved successful production from a well in the Nashba Block area, amounting to about 8.15 million cubic feet of gas per day.
