The National Bank calls for updating the salary schedule for federal government employees and reviewing it every 5 years

Today, during its discussion of the topic “Protecting the Family, Its Concept and Entity,” the Federal National Council called for activating the text of Article (11) of Federal Decree Law No. (49) of 2022 regarding human resources in the federal government regarding setting a minimum total salary upon first appointment to the lower executive ranks, and reviewing and updating the salary scale of federal government employees in a way that is commensurate with the economic changes in the country, with a periodic review of the salary scale every five years.
The Council’s recommendations included confronting “the challenges affecting the formation of the Emirati family,” and the first observation included “media and social media and their role in the spread of alien ideas” to amend Cabinet Resolution No. (68) of 2024 regarding the executive regulations of Federal Decree Law No. (55) of 2023 regarding media regulation, in cooperation with the Emirates Media Council by adding media content standards, establishing a national observatory to monitor the impact of media and digital content on the family, preparing periodic studies to analyze, and launching a national program to support Producing Emirati digital content directed to families and youth, to enhance the production of local content that enhances national identity and Emirati values
The recommendations for confronting “the high cost of living and its impact on the formation of the Emirati family” stipulated activating the text of Article (11) of Federal Decree Law No. (49) of 2022 regarding human resources in the federal government regarding setting a minimum total salary upon the first appointment to the lower executive ranks, reviewing and updating the salary schedule for federal government employees approved by Cabinet Resolution No. (23) of 2012, in a way that is commensurate with the economic changes in the country, with a periodic review of the salary scale every five years and submitting a report on that. To the Council of Ministers, amending Article (6) of Council of Ministers Resolution No. (61) of 2021 regarding the conditions and controls for providing housing assistance, so that the category of young people about to get married will be added to the categories excluded from the stated conditions, studying the inclusion of the category of low-income single people about to get married among the categories benefiting from the services of the National Housing Support Fund (sakani), providing the “temporary housing” category within the federal housing programs, in coordination with the competent authorities, preparing long-term strategic plans for allocating land and planning it to meet future housing needs.
