Dubai Chambers concludes its trade mission to Greece and calls for sustainable trade and investment partnerships

Dubai, January 23 / WAM / Dubai Chambers discussed the prospects for joint trade and investment opportunities with the public and private sectors in Greece, with the aim of strengthening economic partnerships and opening new horizons for growth and cooperation in strategic sectors.

According to a press release issued today, this came during an official visit organized by Dubai Chambers to the Greek capital, Athens, headed by His Excellency Engineer Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Chambers, and in the presence of His Excellency Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, within the framework of the “Corridors of Growth” initiative, which aims to strengthen the frameworks of trade and investment cooperation between Dubai and global markets, where a series of meetings were held with concerned Greek entities from the public and private sectors.

His Excellency Engineer Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri said that Dubai and Greece have well-established relations at all levels, and this visit comes within the framework of efforts made to expand strategic partnerships and enhance paths of joint cooperation at the international level, through which we seek to explore new opportunities for economic and investment cooperation between the two sides, which contributes to building qualitative and sustainable partnerships.

During the visit, the Dubai Chambers delegation held a series of high-level meetings with officials from a number of government and private institutions in Greece, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in priority economic sectors.

The list of entities that the chambers delegation met with during the visit included the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Investment Fund of Greece, which supervises a wide portfolio of subsidiaries owned by the Greek government and manages assets worth 11.7 billion euros, in addition to the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the largest chamber of commerce in Greece, with a membership of more than 120,000 companies.

The entities that the delegation met with during the visit also included the Greek Federation of Companies, whose membership includes 3,500 companies that constitute 50% of economic activities in Greece, and the total assets of the Federation’s members amount to 416 billion euros, in addition to the Greek Investment and Trade Promotion Authority, and the branch of the Endeavor Global Entrepreneurship Network in Greece, whose membership includes 174 companies with total revenues of 3.9 billion euros.

During the activities of its trade mission to Greece, Dubai Chambers concluded a memorandum of understanding with the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where the memorandum was signed by His Excellency Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, and Ioanis Pratakos, President of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the aim of improving bilateral work, enhancing cooperation in the sectors of trade and industry, and opening new horizons to increase the volume of trade exchange between Dubai and Athens, in a way that serves the interests of investors and companies.

The memorandum also stipulates strengthening cooperation in the areas of official missions and trade and economic delegations and providing support to members of the Dubai Chambers and the Athens Chamber of Commerce in a way that contributes to enhancing trade, growing investment opportunities and concluding commercial partnerships.

During the meetings, the integrated support provided by Dubai Chambers to Greek companies wishing to establish their businesses in the emirate and expand from there to regional and global markets was reviewed.

The Chamber delegation highlighted the promising opportunities offered by the Greek business community’s participation in major specialized business events in Dubai, most notably “Expand North Star,” the largest global event for startups and investors.

The importance of the Dubai Entrepreneurs’ Headquarters for Greek startups was also emphasized during the meetings, as it provides access to new resources for growth, expansion and success in Dubai.

The meetings conducted by the Dubai Chamber delegation to Greece discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in a variety of strategic fields and sectors, starting with aviation, ports, infrastructure, renewable energy, tourism, and finance, in addition to a joint focus on innovation and artificial intelligence, in addition to stimulating partnerships and bilateral investments between Greek family companies and their counterparts in Dubai.

The need to enhance the movement of trade delegations between Dubai and Greece was stressed, and to raise the pace of joint work to increase the volume of non-oil trade exchange between the two sides.

The value of non-oil trade between Dubai and Greece reached 2 billion dirhams in the year 2024, with a growth of 13.7% on an annual basis, while the number of Greek companies registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce continues to rise, as 102 Greek companies joined the Chamber’s membership during the year 2025. This brings the total number of active Greek companies registered as members of the Chamber to 419 companies, with a growth of 22.5% on an annual basis.
