3.9 million dirhams in contributions to the “Al Fareej Mosques” initiative during 2025

During the year 2025, the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai recorded a qualitative community presence through the “Al Fareej Mosques” initiative, which established an advanced model of giving close to people, transforming contributions into a sustainable impact that touches the lives of residential neighborhoods and enhances the role of the mosque as a center for worship, learning, and community solidarity, with a total support amounting to 3.9 million dirhams.

The initiative contributed to supporting 46 mosques in various regions of the emirate, in addition to sponsoring more than 120 students in Al-Freej Quran circles within a comprehensive vision that views the mosque as an integrated community institution that serves the family, embraces young people, and promotes faith values in its immediate surroundings.

The implemented works included installing luxury carpets for 46 mosques with an area exceeding 21,000 square metres, in addition to carrying out maintenance and cleaning work for more than 15 mosques for a full year, which enhances the readiness of the Houses of God, improves the worshipers’ experience, and keeps pace with the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda and the emirate’s preparations for the Year of the Family 2026.

As an extension of consolidating the partnership with the community, the year 2025 witnessed the reception and visit of 26 donors and the issuance of 27 start-up certificates that enabled donors to recover value-added tax for completed mosques, in addition to the signing of 6 memorandums of understanding with 6 real estate developers to build and sponsor mosques in development areas, in a clear indication of growing confidence in the department’s institutional role in managing giving and transforming it into long-term value.

Mohammed Jassim Al Mansouri, Director of the Customer Service Department, explained that the results of the “Al Fareej Mosques” initiative during the year 2025 reflect the maturity of the giving model in Dubai and its transition from traditional support to an integrated system based on planning, partnerships and sustainable impact. He pointed out that the initiative redefines the relationship between the individual, the mosque and society through projects managed with clear governance that serve people and the family and enhance the role of the mosque as a living habitat for values, education and societal stability.
