The National Archives and Library organizes a youth forum at the Cairo International Book Fair

ABU DHABI, 25 JANUARY / WAM / As part of its integrated cultural program and on the sidelines of its participation in the Cairo International Book Fair 2026, the National Archives and Library organized the Youth Forum at Badr University in Cairo, under the slogan “The Role of Youth in Cultural Development,” within the framework of its vision aimed at empowering young energies, enhancing their qualitative contribution to the cultural and cognitive movement, and consolidating their role as an active partner in achieving sustainable cultural development.

The National Archives and Library emphasized, through the forum’s themes, that the role of youth in cultural and development events goes beyond traditional executive frameworks, to include intellectual and creative contributions that contribute to developing the tools of cultural work and renewing its methods, keeping pace with the accelerating digital and cognitive transformations, and enhancing its effectiveness and societal impact.

The symposium was based on the vision of the National Archives and Library, which places investment in people, especially the youth, at the top of its priorities, as they are an essential pillar in building cultural awareness, preserving national memory, ensuring the sustainability of the transfer of knowledge between generations, and strengthening Arab cultural identity.

The symposium witnessed a large turnout from university students and young people interested in cultural affairs, and gained its importance from its focus on the youth group as it is the main driver of cultural change and shaping the future, and the link between cultural heritage and modern-day tools.

The organization of the youth forum comes within an integrated cultural program presented by the National Archives and the National Library during its participation in the fifty-seventh session of the Cairo International Book Fair, with the aim of enhancing cultural dialogue, exchanging experiences, and highlighting pioneering experiences in the fields of documentation, knowledge, and institutional cultural work.
