Hamdan bin Mohammed witnesses the signing of an agreement between Dubai Municipality and…"General Construction Company" and"Binghatti Real Estate" Regarding an initiative "Hawi Dubai"

DUBAI, 25 JANUARY / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, witnessed the signing of a new partnership between Dubai Municipality, the General Construction Company and Binghatti Properties, to establish Hawi Al Barsha and Hawi Muhaisnah, in order to support the expansion of the “Dubai Hawi” initiative into new locations in the emirate, after the success of Hawi Nad Al Sheba 4.

This comes in line with the directives aimed at enhancing the role of society, supporting quality of life, and consolidating the concept of social spaces that reflect local identity and serve various segments of society.

The agreement was signed by His Excellency Engineer Marwan Ahmed Bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, Hamad Ali Saif Lootah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Construction Company, and Abdullah Bin Ghatti, Head of Sales at Binghatti Properties, in the presence of a number of executive and administrative leaders of the partnership parties.

Dubai Municipality affirmed its keenness to strengthen the paths of strategic partnership and cooperation to develop new community destinations that enhance social cohesion and keep pace with the city’s aspirations, noting that it welcomes all investors, partners and developers wishing to contribute to the implementation of the “Dubai District” project in other locations within the emirate, to be places that embrace everyone, families and individuals, in a shared space designed for daily use and events, and celebrate community life and shared experiences of coexistence and communication.

His Excellency Engineer Marwan Ahmed Bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said that the new partnership with the General Construction Company and Binghatti Real Estate comes after the successful launch of the first phase of the Dubai Hawi in Nad Al Sheba 4, the project that carries details that reflect the values and identity embraced by the Emirati Al Freej, to be a new path aimed at creating a shift in the design of the Hawi, making them community spaces that provide a comprehensive interactive environment, achieve the ideal balance between contemporary needs and cultural identity, and enhance interaction, communication and community cohesion among the residents. Dubai, according to integrated urban and urban planning that employs the latest international standards and the local expertise of partners, investors and developers, and supports Dubai’s aspirations towards leadership in luxury, sustainability and quality of life.

For his part, Abdullah Bin Ghatti, Head of Sales at Binghatti Properties, who attended the signing of the agreement on behalf of Eng. The “Hawi Dubai” initiative is one of the strategic initiatives implemented in cooperation between Dubai Municipality and the Dubai Future Foundation, and aims to create new community spaces that enhance social interaction among residents, and encourage senior citizens, children and families to communicate and practice outdoor activities.

The initiative aims to revive the spirit of the traditional Emirati friej in a contemporary manner by creating new community spaces that enhance daily social interaction, raise the quality of life of Dubai residents, and encourage senior citizens, children and families to engage in outdoor activities.

Al-Hawi includes many urban elements and societal aspects, the most prominent of which are: The “Dajja” is a semi-open space near the mosque designed for calm and meeting. By nature, it becomes a space between generations, where children learn from the elderly by watching and listening, and the spirit of freej is preserved in simple daily details. There is also the “Plaza”, which is a flexible indoor and outdoor space that brings together neighbors and families to hold events, meetings, events and community celebrations, and provides an open environment for children to play and express, enhancing communication, participation and a sense of belonging.

Dubai Municipality oversees enhancing the attractiveness of entertainment and public facilities, in line with its efforts to make Dubai more attractive and more enjoyable every day.
