Sharjah Heritage and the National Translation Center in Egypt are discussing strengthening cultural partnerships


CAIRO, 28th January, 2017 (WAM) – A delegation from the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, headed by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Musallam, President of the Institute, visited today the National Center for Translation of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture in the New Administrative Capital to discuss prospects for joint cooperation in the fields of translation and book making, as part of the Institute’s efforts to build bridges of cooperation with Arab cultural institutions and in confirmation of its commitment to strengthening cultural partnerships and developing cross-border knowledge projects.
During his visit, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Musallam met with Dr. Rasha Saleh, Head of the National Center for Translation, where he provided an introductory overview of the Institute, its mission, and its multiple roles in the field of specialized publishing and book making, noting the Institute’s wealth of knowledge and qualitative publications that contributed to empowering the Emirati and Arab cultural heritage and openness to human heritage in its various manifestations.
He stressed the Emirate of Sharjah’s keenness to strengthen bridges of cultural communication with Egyptian cultural institutions, especially in the heritage fields, based on its belief in the importance of knowledge partnerships in preserving, circulating and transmitting heritage to future generations.
The President of the Institute praised the existing fruitful cooperation with the National Center for Translation, which in previous stages resulted in the issuance of joint works within the Institute’s programs, expressing his aspiration that future cooperation will result in new and diverse projects, especially in the field of translating world heritage and making it available to the Arab reader.
At the conclusion of the visit, publications were exchanged between the two sides in a step that confirms the depth of cultural relations and the continuity of cooperation between the two institutions.
