Nominations for the fifth edition of the World Police Summit Awards are now open

DUBAI, 29 JANUARY / WAM / The Organizing Committee for the World Police Summit Awards announced the opening of nominations for its awards in the fifth edition of the World Police Summit, which will be held between 23 and 25 June at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The awards celebrate experts, specialists, police leaders, and all workers in law enforcement agencies and related fields, who dedicate their lives to preserving the safety and security of communities, and are keen to implement the best international standards despite the challenges.
The Summit Awards Organizing Committee added the “Future Leader Award” category, bringing the total number of award categories to 13 categories, namely: Excellence in the field of criminal investigation, Excellence in road safety, Excellence for people of determination, Best female employee in the field of law enforcement, Best innovative idea in the field of policing and security, Excellence in the field of forensics and criminology, Excellence in the field of drug control, Excellence in customer service in the field of policing, Best entity in applying artificial intelligence in the field of policing, Best police application, and Best community contribution. In the field of policing, innovation for startups.
The new category, “Future Leader Award,” aims to celebrate promising police leaders with future visions and creative abilities. The addition comes within the framework of the summit’s commitment to honoring the efforts made in innovation, leadership, and institutional and individual excellence in the law enforcement sector at the international level.
The World Police Summit Awards Ceremony is one of the most prominent events of the summit, which brings together an elite group of leaders and members of law enforcement agencies, experts, academics and decision-makers from around the world, to discuss the accelerating challenges facing the security sector, and anticipate future solutions to enhance the security of societies.
The summit, which this year bears the slogan “Connect to Make a Difference: Uniting Global Policing Efforts for a Safer Future,” includes dialogue sessions, workshops and a specialized exhibition, and presents discussions on the most prominent issues related to modern policing, including the use of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and enhancing cross-border cooperation. The summit is a global platform for exchanging knowledge and building strategic partnerships, supporting the development of law enforcement systems and raising their readiness to face changing global challenges.
Captain Marwan Abdullah Al Mulla, Head of the Administrative Excellence Section at the General Directorate of Excellence and Leadership at Dubai Police, and head of the Summit Awards Team, said: “The World Police Summit Awards reflect the commitment of Dubai Police and its partners to promoting a culture of excellence and innovation in policing, and providing an international platform to appreciate the exceptional efforts that contribute to protecting communities and developing security systems.”
The organizing committee opened the door for nominations through the official website of the World Police Summit, and the door for receiving entries will close on the first of next May. The short list of nominees will be announced on June 12, followed by the final announcement on June 19, while the winners of the thirteen awards will be honored during an official ceremony held on June 25 in the presence of senior officers, commanders, and a number of officials in the law enforcement sector.
The awards jury includes an elite group of international academics and experts specialized in police sciences.
