Dubai Chambers is looking to enhance trade and investment opportunities with Canada’s Ontario

Dubai, January 30 / WAM / Dubai Chambers hosted a high-level Canadian delegation at its headquarters, headed by His Excellency Trevor Jones, Minister of Agriculture of the Province of Ontario.

During a meeting attended by His Excellency Engineer Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Chambers, and His Excellency Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, its Director General, the two sides discussed ways to advance bilateral cooperation in a group of sectors, most notably food and agricultural technology, in addition to developing the import and export movement between Dubai and the province of Ontario and the support that Dubai Chambers provides to Canadian companies to develop and expand their business in the region from Dubai.

Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri said: “We are keen to actively contribute to developing economic relations based on effective partnership and long-term investment between Dubai and various countries of the world, as part of the efforts made to enhance Dubai’s position as a major global hub for trade and business. We continue to work to expand our network of international partners and explore strategic opportunities that enhance investment flows and trade exchange.”

He added that the economic relations between Dubai and Canada constitute a successful model of cooperation based on shared values ​​and convergent visions towards a diversified and sustainable economy, and we are keen to develop this cooperation to include new sectors and innovative fields that serve mutual interests.

The meeting witnessed a review of Dubai’s strategic location as a global center for food security and supply chain management at the global level, as well as the competitive business environment in the emirate, which constitutes an ideal gateway to benefit from the promising and diverse growth prospects for Canadian companies in general and Ontario companies in particular, in addition to enhancing the flow of Canadian investments to Dubai in the food processing and logistics services sectors.

It is noteworthy that the value of non-oil trade between Dubai and Canada reached 10.2 billion dirhams in the year 2024, and with 1,042 new Canadian companies joining the membership of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce during the year 2025, the total number of active Canadian companies registered with membership in the Chamber reached 4,673 companies at the end of last year, which reflects the growing attractiveness of Dubai for Canadian companies and investors, as a strategic and ideal base for regional and global expansion.

Last year, Dubai International Chamber opened a representative office in Toronto, the capital of Ontario, with the aim of supporting companies in both Dubai and Canada, in addition to promoting Dubai’s competitive advantages as a global business destination.
