New York, January 30 / WAM / A joint official Emirati delegation from the Education, Human and Community Development Council and the Ministry of Education discussed prospects for educational cooperation with the Department of Education in New York City, during an official visit carried out by the delegation.
The delegation included Her Excellency Sarah bint Youssef Al Amiri, Minister of Education; His Excellency Hajer Ahmed Al Dhahli, Secretary General of the Education, Human Development and Society Council; His Excellency Tariq Al Hashemi, Assistant Undersecretary for School Operations Sector at the Ministry of Education – Dubai and the Northern Emirates, along with a number of officials from both sides, and officials from Next71, a company specializing in artificial intelligence and smart education solutions.
The visit aimed to review advanced educational experiments in New York City, and discuss opportunities for cooperation in the fields of alternative education, innovative learning models, curriculum development, and the use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence to support the educational process and enhance learning outcomes.
Her Excellency Sarah Al Amiri stressed that this visit represents a qualitative step to enhance institutional cooperation and build knowledge partnerships capable of transforming shared experiences into practical initiatives that support the development of the educational environment in the country, noting that exchanging experiences with advanced global systems supports the modern trends of the national education system, and contributes to formulating innovative solutions that are compatible with the educational reality in the UAE.
She added that the Ministry of Education is constantly seeking to develop practical cooperation frameworks with partners, including capacity building, expanding areas of joint research, and experimenting with measurable and generalizable development initiatives, in addition to establishing practices that guarantee the quality and sustainability of performance, and enhance the readiness of students and teachers for the future within a flexible and responsible educational system.
For her part, Her Excellency Hajar Al-Dhahli stressed that this visit represents an important step in the process of strengthening international cooperation in the field of education, and is consistent with national trends aimed at developing an integrated educational system linked to human and societal development, by benefiting from advanced educational experiences in the governance of educational systems, ensuring the quality of outcomes, and integrating educational policies with society’s priorities and future needs.
She added that the meetings and field visits included in the visit program contributed to deepening understanding of diverse and innovative educational models, which supports the development of learning paths, enhances the flexibility of the educational system, improves teacher preparation frameworks, and links education outcomes to the requirements of human development and the labor market, thus enhancing the role of education in building a cohesive society capable of keeping pace with future changes.
The visit program included a series of meetings and field visits that focused on a number of main axes, most notably the governance of educational systems, mechanisms for regulating public and independent schools and ensuring the quality of their outcomes, models of alternative education and project-based learning, innovative models in school management, blended learning and educational technologies, the use of artificial intelligence in personalizing learning and improving school performance, preparing teachers and developing their skills, linking training programs to academic excellence paths, supervising home and hybrid education, compliance and follow-up frameworks, building international educational partnerships, exchanging experiences and developing joint initiatives that support the development of… The educational system in the UAE.
During the visit, the delegation met with a number of educational leaders and leading academic institutions in New York City, including the New York City Department of Education, the Office of Religious and Independent School Support (ORISS), and the New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE) Office of Homeschooling.
