Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi will receive about 7 million guests during 2025

During the year 2025, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in Abu Dhabi received 6,846,723 guests, an increase of 4% compared to 2024, recording the highest number in its history.

The number of worshipers reached 1,531,192, of whom 257,859 performed the Friday prayer rituals, 697,961 performed the daily prayers, and 575,372 performed the Ramadan and Eid rituals. The number of people breaking the fast reached 898,767, while the number of visitors reached 4,331,046 visitors, and the number of users reached Sports Walk 85,718 users.

Visitors to the mosque from outside the country constituted 82%, while residents of the country constituted 18%, of the total guests of the mosque. The continent of Asia topped the list of guests of the mosque, with a percentage of 49%, followed by the continent of Europe with a percentage of 33%, then the continent of North America with a percentage of 11%, then the continents of Africa and the continent of South America with a percentage of each, followed by the continent of Australia with a percentage of 1%.

In the same context, India came first with 20% of the mosque’s guests, China second with 9%, followed by Russia and America third with 8% each, Germany, the United Kingdom, France and Italy came fourth with 3% each, and the Philippines and Pakistan came fifth with 2% each.

55,730 visitors joined the cultural tours provided by the centre’s cultural tour specialists, which amounted to 4,031 tours, and 21,988 people joined the official delegations, whose reservations reached 1,564 reservations. The mosque also received 335 high-level delegations, which included visits by 9 heads of state, two vice presidents of state, 4 state governors, a state deputy governor, 8 sheikhs and princes, and 12 presidents. Ministers, two deputy prime ministers, 6 speakers of parliaments, a deputy speaker of parliament, 78 ministers, 25 deputy ministers, 51 ambassadors and consuls, 3 deputy ambassadors and consuls, one visit by religious sects, 70 visits from the military sector, and 62 visits by official delegations from various parties.

During the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, the total number of guests at the mosque reached 1,890,144 guests, including worshipers and visitors. During the holy month and the Eid al-Fitr holiday, 594,236 worshipers performed prayers in the mosque, with the number of worshipers in the Isha and Tarawih prayers reaching 193,435, and 195,987 worshipers in the Tahajjud prayer. 72,533 worshipers performed the night of Ramadan 27, and 26,025 worshipers performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer, while During the same period, the mosque received 391,011 visitors.

During the days of the Eid al-Fitr holiday, the total number of guests at the mosque reached 122,819 guests, including 57,629 worshipers and 64,959 visitors, with a 10% increase in the number of guests at the mosque compared to the year 1445 AH.

As part of the “Our Fasting Guests” project, the Center distributed 2,625,568 iftar and suhoor meals, sponsored by the “Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation” and in partnership with the “Erth Hotel”, including 898,767 meals distributed at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, 442,345 meals at the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Grand Mosque in Al Ain, and 1,160,000 meals in the workers’ cities in Abu Dhabi, 105,935 meals in various regions of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and 19,000 suhoor meals distributed at the mosque during the last ten days.

Throughout the year, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center continued to enhance the experiences of its guests by developing its cultural tours and various services, including the “Mosque Market”, to ensure the diversity of experiences and their suitability for different groups. It also strengthened its cultural presence locally and globally through initiatives such as the “Minarets of the Two Capitals” in Moscow within the “Bridges” program, and participation in the “Petersburg International Forum of Religions”, in addition to the experiences of the “Museum of Light and Peace”, which attracted 47,266 visitors, and the experience “Dia” received 45,699 visitors, while the mosque’s library received 5,930 visitors.

The Center organized a number of cultural events, including the Australian “Plains Without Borders” exhibition, and the “Memory of Place” exhibition in cooperation with the National Archives and Library, in addition to the “Artistic Features… Inspirations from Light and Peace” exhibition. It also presented 16 cultural workshops in which 14 schools and 331 students participated, using innovative methods through which they learned about the components of Islamic culture.

The Center also continued its efforts to enhance religious and cultural content, by publishing 330 episodes within 12 knowledge series, including: The Chair of the Mosque, A Flash of Jurisprudence, The Beautiful Names of God, The Pulpit of the Mosque, Architecture and Arts, Valuable Plants, Rare Books and Manuscripts, and launched the audio version of the book “The Houses of God from the Kairouan Mosque to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque” and its translated versions in Spanish, French and Chinese, in addition to issuing the book “Noor”. “Salam” supports the content of the museum, and the children’s story “Deira Al-Durur wa Al-Tala’” which summarizes the knowledge of our ancestors. The Center continued its pivotal role in the Hijri calendar project by enriching the content of the 1447 AH version according to scientific, legal and astronomical foundations.

The Center’s efforts continued to enrich the experiences of its guests, worshipers and visitors, in its affiliated mosques, as the number of guests during the year 2025 recorded a remarkable growth compared to the previous year, as the Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in Al Ain received 1,032,320 guests, a remarkable increase of 95% compared to the year 2024, while the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah received 660,110 guests, achieving a percentage increase. 10% over the year 2024. In the same context, the number of worshipers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah reached 147,348 worshipers, an increase of 35% over the year 2024, which reflects the growing demand for these religious and cultural monuments, and their growing role in serving their guests from different cultures.

The numbers reflect the position of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque as one of the most prominent religious, cultural and tourist destinations in the world, and its role in enhancing the cultural and tourism movement in Abu Dhabi by attracting millions of visitors annually, which contributes to consolidating the capital’s position as a global destination for cultural dialogue and tolerance.

As part of its continuous efforts to improve the experience of its guests and enhance its global presence, the center achieved advanced ranks among the best cultural and historical destinations in the world according to the classification of the “Trip Advisor” website, which specializes in travel and tourism, where it came in eighth place globally among the 25 most prominent destinations around the world, up two places from last year. It also maintained first place in the Middle East among the list of the ten most prominent landmarks in the region.
