Starting tomorrow… a new regulation of public parking in International City in Dubai

Starting tomorrow, Sunday, February 1, 2026, the International City area in Dubai will enter a new phase of parking regulation with the start of the official implementation of the paid parking system, in a step aimed at reducing congestion and improving the flow of movement within one of the densest residential and commercial areas in the emirate.
Parkin Company confirmed that the new system includes granting one free permit for each residential unit in buildings that do not have existing parking, provided that the second vehicle and additional vehicles are required to pay parking fees or a monthly subscription, in order to ensure fair distribution and ease of access to parking for residents and visitors.
She explained that activating the system comes within an integrated vision to enhance the efficiency of parking use and raise the quality of life in the region, noting that all permit and subscription services are available through official digital channels, through the “Parkin” smart application and the parkin.ae website, to facilitate procedures and speed up the completion of transactions.
Parkin Company recently explained to Emirates Today that the International City area was facing a major challenge represented by the limited number of public parking lots compared to the number of residential units, which caused severe crowding, which necessitated the implementation of a new operational and organizational model based on smart connectivity with both the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and the Land Department.
She explained that this connection aims to provide an optimal service to the officially registered residents in the area, and to organize the process of using parking in a contractual and operational manner, so that free parking is limited to the official residents, in exchange for allocating specific areas with paid parking for visitors and visitors to the area for the purposes of shopping or using facilities and services, in a way that achieves a balance between the needs of the population and the requirements of commercial activity.
