Mohammed bin Zayed and Mohammed bin Rashid witness part of the “World Summit of Scientists”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Court, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, witnessed the launch of the World Summit of Scientists this morning in Dubai, the largest global gathering. For Nobel Prize winners and other prestigious scientific awards, with the participation of more than 150 scientists and participants including Nobel Prize winners and prestigious international scientific awards, along with leaders of research institutions.
The Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Government Summit, Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, confirmed that the UAE has believed since its founding that building nations is not based on resources alone, but on people, stressing that the greatest investment in the future is investment in knowledge and science.
Al-Gergawi said, in his opening speech at the Scientists’ Summit, which was launched this morning in Dubai, and is the largest global gathering of Nobel Prize laureates and other prestigious scientific awards, with the participation of more than 150 scientists and research leaders, in conjunction with the World Government Summit 2026, and which constitutes an international platform for scientific dialogue and creating solutions to global challenges, that the UAE is a country reconciled with science and believes that knowledge is the shortest path to prosperity, and that research and openness to the mind constitute basic pillars. It is indispensable for building a human being capable of distinction, excellence, and continuity.
He explained that the path of human knowledge is witnessing a radical transformation today, in light of the accelerating developments in artificial intelligence, and the growing ambition of humanity towards a long, healthy life, which imposes new scientific approaches that go beyond traditional specializations, pointing out that the treatment of the next pandemic, for example, will not be the product of biology alone, but rather the result of its integration with quantum computing.
He pointed out that the boundaries separating physicists, computing and biology scientists have begun to fade, stressing that the responsibility of scientists today is not limited to a cognitive role only, but extends to a crucial role at a delicate stage that witnesses major transformations, technological accelerations and unprecedented economic changes, with which anxiety about the future of humanity increases.
Al-Gergawi said that the meeting of scholars at this time sends a message of hope to the world, that man, despite the noise that fills the world, is still capable of choosing the path of reason and wisdom and working to improve this world, stressing that the spirit of the UAE intersects with the spirit of this scientific gathering in looking to the future as a responsibility, and not a ceiling limited by past experiences.
At the conclusion of his speech, Al-Gergawi appreciated the efforts of the International Association of Scientists in bringing together this elite of distinguished scientific and intellectual figures, including Nobel, Turing and Fields laureates, stressing that their meeting in the UAE, and in the presence of its leadership, will contribute to creating a better future for humanity and a more advanced and wiser world.
