The seventh regional group of the International Equestrian Federation holds its regular meeting in Sharjah
Sharjah, 1st February / WAM / The Emirate of Sharjah hosted the regular meeting of the seventh regional group in the International Equestrian Federation, headed by His Excellency Sultan Muhammad Khalifa Al Yahyai, Chairman of the Group and General Director of the Sharjah Equestrian Club, and in the presence of representatives of the national federations of the group’s countries, in addition to Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Sharfa, representative of the Emirates Equestrian Federation.
Al-Sharafa confirmed that the meeting, which was held at the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, witnessed the announcement of the organization of the finals of the international show jumping championships under the umbrella of the seventh regional group, which will be held in the State of Qatar in April 2026, with the 2027 finals being organized in the UAE to coincide with the Nations Cup for the seventh group countries in Abu Dhabi, in implementation of the concept of “convergence of generations” that brings together world champions and future champions.
He pointed out that the meeting also witnessed the distribution of medals for the results of the dressage challenge championships to the winners, as the UAE riders achieved the largest share of gold medals and won the majority of the awards.
It is noteworthy that the periodic meetings of the countries of the Seventh Regional Group constitute an important platform for coordinating efforts and unifying visions among national federations, discussing ways to develop equestrian sports in all its specializations, and enhancing technical and administrative cooperation, in addition to exchanging experiences and best practices.
These meetings also provide an opportunity to follow up on developments in international regulations and ensure that regional programs are consistent with the strategy of the International Federation, in a way that serves the development and sustainability of equestrianism at the regional and international levels.
