Narges Al-Moussawi wins the “Women Leadership Award in the Shipping Sector” within the Saudi Maritime Award 2026

In an achievement that reflects the growing status of Bahraini leaders on the map of the regional and international maritime sector, Ms. Narjis Al-Mousawi, Chief Executive Officer of Human Resources and Corporate Services and Acting CEO of Bahrain Ship Repair and Engineering Company (BASREC), won the Women’s Leadership Award in the Shipping Sector after being selected from a group of nominees from prominent female leaders in the shipping and maritime industries sector, during the Saudi Maritime Sector Awards Ceremony held in Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with high-level participation from executive leaders. Decision makers and experts from inside and outside the Kingdom.
This honor comes in recognition of the prominent leadership role and influential contributions made by women in the shipping and maritime industries sector, and sheds light on the leaders who lead institutional transformation, enhance operational excellence, and support sustainable growth in one of the most important strategic sectors in the region.
On this occasion, Mr. Fawzi Kanoo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BASREC, confirmed that this coronation reflects the level of professional maturity reached by Bahraini national competencies, and their ability to compete and excel in regional and international forums, pointing out that Mrs. Narjis’ victory embodies a leadership model that combines strategic vision and executive efficiency, and confirms BASREC’s firm commitment to empowering national leaders and enhancing the role of women in decision-making positions within the maritime sector.
