German Schott advances to the “Top 10” in the “Race to Dubai” golf tournament

German Freddy Schott broke into the “Top 10” list, coming in ninth place in the “Race to Dubai” classification issued on Monday, after winning his first title on the DB World Golf Tour, by winning the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, which concluded yesterday, Sunday, and was held within the “International Series” tournaments this season.
Schott’s victory in the third edition of the Bahrain Championship, which the organizers had previously announced extending the contract to continue the “Race to Dubai” for the next ten years, came after a strong competition between an elite group of the brightest golf stars with the participation of 138 players from 28 countries, and a total of $2.75 million in prize money.
Schott, 24 years old, won the title after excelling in two playoff rounds against the Scottish duo Callum Hill and the American Patrick Reed, after the players were equal with a score of 17 shots under par at the end of the last round, as the German finished his career in the four rounds of the tournament with 65, 67, 70 and 69 hits.
Thanks to this title, Schott earned 585 points, moving forward more than a hundred steps, and occupying ninth place in the “Race to Dubai” classification with a total of 638 points.
Schott won a prize money amounting to about 484 thousand US dollars, which is the first coronation in his career on the DB World Tour, in his 91st participation in the Tour’s tournaments, and the second time in this tournament in particular.
This is the 73rd victory for German players in the history of the DB World Tour, and the first since Nikolai von won the Austrian Open title in June 2025.
Hill benefited from his second place finish at the end of the two playoff rounds, as he completed the second round before losing to Schott, moving him in turn to 16th place in the “Race to Dubai” classification with a score of 371.
As for Reid, who left after the first playoff round, he continued his strong performance this season, as he was crowned champion of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic last week in Dubai, which is the first tournament of the season in the Rolex Elite Championship Series, where the American remained in second place in the “Race to Dubai” classification, and increased his total score to 1,674 points.

This tournament is the third in the “International Series”, which includes 7 tournaments held in 5 different countries on two continents. It started in the UAE, and continues to hold tournaments in Qatar, Kenya and South Africa.
According to the calendar for the new “Race to Dubai” season, at least 42 tournaments will be held in 25 countries around the world, with the final qualifiers being held in the United Arab Emirates, where the best 70 players will qualify for the Abu Dhabi Championship at Yas Links from November 5 to 8, 2026, and then the best 50 players will qualify for the DB World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Estates Golf Club from November 12 to 15, 2026.
