Distinctive successes for UAE Taekwondo in the Fujairah International Championship

The President of the International Taekwondo Federation, Dr. Choi Chung, a member of the International Federation Council and President of the Emirates Taekwondo Federation, honored Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, during the International Federation Awards Ceremony, which was held yesterday evening in the Emirate of Fujairah, in the presence of an elite group of international sports and leadership figures, in recognition of his role in developing the game of Taekwondo in the Emirates.

In a related context, the players of the national team and the Fujairah Martial Arts Club succeeded in achieving impressive achievements during their participation in the Fujairah International Open Taekwondo Championship (G2) competitions today, Tuesday, which continues under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.

Emirati players won 3 distinguished medals in the youth category:

Gold: Rimas Tamim (weight 63 kg)

Silver: Abdullah Anas (weight 59 kg)

Bronze: Yara Abu Ghader (weight 44 kg)

The tournament witnessed a wide participation of the elite stars of the game at the international level, as the players of the Arab teams continued their brilliance, especially the Jordanian players who won 5 medals on the second day of the tournament:

Gold: Jaafar Al-Daoud (weight 54 kg)

Silver: Zaid Al-Halwani (weight 68 kg)

Bronze: Laith Al-Rawashdeh (weight 54 kg), Mahmoud Al-Taraira (weight 68 kg), Zaid Mustafa (weight 74 kg)

Other players also achieved:

Tunisian player Amin Allah Trabelsi: silver, 54 kg

Saudi player Jasser Awani: silver, weight 87 kg

Egyptian player Abdullah Essam: bronze in weight over 87 kg
