"Federal National" Discusses strengthening cooperation with the Ecuadorian Parliament
Dubai, 5 February / WAM / The Parliamentary Friendship Committee of the Federal National Council with the parliaments of Latin American and North American countries, headed by His Excellency Dr. Moza Mohammed Al Shehhi, Vice-Chairman of the Committee, discussed with Her Excellency Sadie Frecci, Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Friendship Committee in the National Assembly of the Republic of Ecuador, the strengthening of bilateral and parliamentary cooperation relations between the two sides, on the sidelines of participation in the World Government Summit 2026 held in Dubai.
The meeting that brought together the two parties was attended by two members of the Federal National Council and members of the committee, Her Excellency Maryam Majid bin Thaniah, Second Deputy Speaker of the Council, and Her Excellency Amna Ali Al-Adidi.
The two sides stressed the strength of the strategic partnership and the growing relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Ecuador in various fields, especially in the sectors of energy and the sustainable economy, noting that the growth in indicators of cooperation between the two sides reflects the confidence of the governments of the two countries in the importance of bilateral relations in achieving common growth and prosperity.
The two friendship committees touched on mechanisms for enhancing parliamentary cooperation, and the importance of activating the role of parliamentary friendship committees in supporting bilateral relations between the two friendly countries on issues of common interest, and enhancing consultation and coordination within the framework of parliamentary diplomacy during participation in various parliamentary meetings and events.
The initiatives and efforts undertaken by the UAE and the Republic of Ecuador were reviewed in the areas of gender equality, youth and women empowerment, and the use of technology and artificial intelligence to support various development paths.
