Sharjah Voluntary Work Center participates in Heritage Days 2026


Sharjah, February 10, 2026 – The Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work, affiliated with the Sharjah Social Services Department, is participating in the activities of the 23rd edition of Sharjah Heritage Days 2026, which continues until February 15.
Volunteers play a pivotal role in supporting the organization of the event and supervising a number of heritage workshops and programs included in the agenda of events held in the Heritage Village in the heart of Sharjah.
The participation witnessed a remarkable volunteer presence, as volunteers provided their efforts within specialized work teams to cover various organizational and supervisory tasks, reflecting their readiness and vital role in the success of major events that attract thousands of visitors from inside and outside the country.
The volunteers’ roles varied between organizational and supervisory work at the event sites, which included event management, supervision of the Popular Games House, the Arab Heritage Center, the Artistic Heritage Center, and the Heritage Crafts Center, in addition to supporting the security and safety teams, maintenance, public relations and ceremonies, the Stories Corner, and content management and media publishing.
The volunteers also organized the entry and exit of visitors, and provided the necessary facilities to ensure a smooth and safe experience for the public, while giving priority to people with disabilities and the elderly in attending the performances and programmes, which reflects the values of community solidarity and the spirit of volunteerism that characterizes the Emirate of Sharjah.
Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Community Cohesion Department in the Department of Social Services, confirmed that the participation of the Sharjah Center for Volunteer Work in Sharjah Heritage Days comes within the department’s vision aimed at enhancing the presence of volunteers in community and cultural events, and consolidating the concept of volunteering as a human and national value that contributes to serving the community and preserving the Emirati identity.
Al Hammadi added that the volunteers contributed effectively to organizing the sites, facilitating the movement of visitors, and supervising heritage programs, noting that the department is keen to expand the areas of qualitative volunteering in activities that serve culture and heritage, in a way that enhances the values of belonging and national identity among members of society.
