"The village of lights" It provides distinctive entertainment and artistic experiences for visitors to the Sharjah Festival


Sharjah, February 11, 2017 – With the launch of the Sharjah Light Festival every year, the landmarks of the Emirate of Sharjah are transformed into luminous, vibrant artistic paintings embodied in innovative light projection techniques, specially designed soundtracks for each show, and visual storytelling inspired by local culture and contemporary digital arts.
In 2026, the activities of the Sharjah Lights Festival will expand to include the “Village of Lights”, a vibrant family destination that brings together various restaurants, shops, entertainment venues, interactive experiences and various light installations.
The “Village of Lights” is located next to the University City Hall building, and its activities will continue until February 22, providing visitors with a space to meet before or after the main lights displays, or to be an ideal destination to spend an enjoyable evening. The Sharjah Lights Festival continues to consolidate its position year after year due to the widespread public and media interest it receives, which reflects its status as one of the most prominent annual events anticipated in the emirate.
The Sharjah Lights Festival is famous for its huge light displays that decorate the most prominent landmarks of the emirate. The “Village of Lights” stands out as an integrated destination in itself, vibrant with life, full of creativity and music, and includes a selection of shops and diverse experiences.
The village is based on the principle of diversity and inclusion, as it allows visitors to explore more than 50 national food and beverage projects and retail stores, in addition to 25 stores that include a growing mix of participating brands and well-known national projects. This destination also witnesses an increasing demand annually from owners of small and medium national projects and local entrepreneurs, which contributes to enhancing the social and economic impact of the festival by supporting entrepreneurship, providing promising business opportunities, and stimulating economic mobility at the emirate level.
Visitors can also enjoy entertainment shows and a games area designated for families, in addition to light shows and interactive experiences throughout the village. The renewed diversity in the list of national entrepreneurs and project owners reflects the village’s position as a platform for hosting emerging projects alongside prominent national brands.
The “Village of Lights” also includes a dedicated children’s area that provides a vibrant space for fun, games, and interactive areas designed specifically for young visitors. The area also includes workshops and interactive activities suitable for families that encourage creativity, learning, and active participation to give families and children enjoyable times and an integrated experience within the festival atmosphere.
