The Library of the Grand Mosque… 800 square meters of educational and cultural services

The Library of the Grand Mosque was established by order of Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais – His Excellency the General President of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque at the time. It was opened by His Royal Highness Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Governor of the Makkah al-Mukarramah, Saturday, Rajab 22, 1434 AH.
A huge collection of books and volumes
According to the official website, the library is part of General services of the Authority to take care of the affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, and it contains a rich collection of books and volumes in various fields such as the Arabic language, history, translations, and general knowledge.
The library is located on the second floor of the expansion of King Fahd – may God have mercy on him – in the Grand Mosque, with an area of more than 800 square meters.
Services provided:
The library aims to provide services Educational and cultural integrated for visitors to the Grand Mosque. It includes:
- Self-photographing service.
- Browsing digital books.
- Listening to audio (such as sermons, lessons, and recitations).
- Digital copying service (for books and sermons).
- Reading room.
- Dedicated services for people with special needs.
- Services Inquiries.
Library statistics:
The library contains approximately 30,000 volumes and approximately 5,600 titles.
The library receives more than 2,500 visitors per week, which equates to 11,000 visitors per month.
