Sandooq Al Watan celebrates the achievements of students participating in… "Swift accelerators"
Abu Dhabi, February 17, 2017 – His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fund, affirmed the commitment of all employees of the Fund to provide all forms and forms of full support to the sons and daughters of the Emirates, especially school students, to qualify and empower them in the field of information technology and artificial intelligence technology, by training them according to the latest international training methods in cooperation with major international companies in this field, while opening the way for the largest number of them to join these programs, in order to qualify them. To face the challenges of the future with confidence and efficiency.
This came during the final projects forum organized by Sandooq Al Watan yesterday in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, to celebrate the achievements of students participating in the “SWIFT Accelerators” intensive training program, which lasted six months and aimed to support young people’s capabilities in the fields of programming and digital technologies, and was implemented under the supervision and follow-up of an elite group of the Fund’s trainers and experts. The students were honored in appreciation of their creativity and the projects they completed during this period.
During the forum, 258 male and female students from UAE schools were honored, 220 of whom received an application development certificate approved by Apple, in a step that confirms the success of the program in refining young people’s skills and preparing them for the digital future, and providing them with the opportunity to acquire application development skills using iOS.
His Excellency Yasser Al-Gergawi, Director General of Sandooq Al Watan, confirmed that the participation of thousands of school and university students in the “SWIFT Accelerators” program launched by the Fund is one of the most important indicators of the success of this type of initiative, pointing out that the Fund provided the participants with laptop computers, and provided them with trainers and experts to help them develop their ideas and technical projects and unleash their digital creative energies, thus contributing to preparing a generation capable of active participation in building digital engineering and consolidating a digital economy based on national competencies possessing scientific skills and tools. Capable of continuing the technological journey and passing it on to generations.
He added that the Fund seeks to enhance the capabilities of creative students in the fields of modern technologies and the world of programming, which has become the language of the times and an essential part of the work system in educational and professional institutions in the country.
He explained that the participating students from various local schools and universities demonstrated distinguished levels of scientific abilities and technical skills, and that their projects deserved to be honored, given the clear efforts they made and the advanced level they demonstrated, which was admired by specialist supervisors and major international companies specialized in digital information systems.
The participating students presented innovative projects related to the digital economy, which focused on developing practical and professional skills and enhancing the capabilities of local institutions to improve their digital services. They included smart applications and digital tools that combine data and digital interaction to facilitate services, in addition to innovative platforms that support professional development and link individuals to local opportunities and programs, which contributes to raising the efficiency of the business environment and providing innovative solutions that serve different segments of society.
The students participating in the “SWIFT Accelerators” program and their parents who attended the celebration expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude for the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, stressing that his continuous support for young people and his motivation for them to enter the fields of technology and innovation constituted a major motivation for achieving their achievements and developing their digital projects.
