“Dubai Government Human Resources” sets working hours during Ramadan

The Dubai Government Human Resources Department announced the setting of official work hours in government agencies in the emirate during the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH, in a step that reflects the Dubai government’s keenness to enhance the quality of life and establish a balance between the requirements of work and family life, coinciding with the (Year of the Family).
According to the circular, working hours are from Monday to Thursday from nine in the morning until two-thirty in the afternoon, while working hours on Friday are from nine in the morning until twelve in the afternoon, which allows employees more time to spend their time with their families and participate in the Ramadan and social atmosphere.
The decision also allows government agencies to implement a flexible working system during the morning attendance period, enabling employees to start work between seven and ten in the morning while completing the number of official working hours, in addition to the possibility of implementing a remote work system for employees whose nature of tasks allows this, equivalent to two days a week for each employee, which contributes to supporting family stability and enhancing community cohesion during the holy month.
The department confirmed that these measures reflect the Dubai government’s approach to adopting flexible work policies that take into account the needs of employees and their families, and support their psychological and social well-being, which reflects positively on productivity, job happiness, and sustainability of institutional performance.
She also pointed out the need for government agencies to determine the working hours for employees working in shifts or whose jobs are related to serving the public or managing public service facilities, in a way that is commensurate with their operational requirements and ensures the continuity of providing services with high efficiency.
