المملكة: “Standards Authority”: Expansion of soil tests…an utmost necessity to keep pace with the development of the regions

The Standards, Metrology and Quality Authority called for Conformity assessment bodies for the urgent expansion of soil examinations and raising their operational capabilities, to meet the needs of increasing development projects in the Kingdom, stressing the necessity of obtaining regulatory licenses to ensure the quality of work and the sustainability of the infrastructure.

The Authority urged specialized laboratories and inspection bodies to enhance their technical and operational capabilities in the fields of geotechnical soil, and to immediately raise their absorptive capacity to keep up with The urban and construction boom taking place in all regions of the Kingdom.

The official directives stressed the importance of geographical expansion in providing testing services to cover the national need in all cities and governorates, and to fill any gap that may arise as a result of Accelerated growth of mega projects.

The Authority called on entities wishing to expand and participate in this development movement to apply to obtain the necessary licenses to practice the activity in accordance with the approved rules and regulations, to ensure the safety of the results and their conformity with standard specifications.

This strategic move comes within the framework of the national quality system’s keenness to provide a safe and sustainable infrastructure, and to ensure the availability of highly efficient soil testing services that support comprehensive development goals.
