Brazilian Joao wins the Sharjah Sports Award title and German David Weil wins the two-star title

Sharjah, February 22 / WAM / Brazilian João Victor de Lima and the horse “Kenzo Quality Z” won first place in the distinction, German David Weil came second, and Swedish Henrik von Eckermann third in the competitions of the Sharjah Ruler’s Cup International Show Jumping Championship 2026, which was held with single-round competitions and the five-star distinction round, sponsored by the Sharjah Sports Council, on hurdles reaching a height of 155 cm and its prizes. 107 thousand euros, with the participation of 38 riders.

Jockey David Weil was also crowned champion of the Grand Prix in the two-star category, sponsored by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Authority, with the participation of 50 riders, after the qualifying rounds, and the second place was won by Ukrainian Reni Tipple, and the third place was won by the Emirati Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzouqi.

In the covered competition hall, two competitions were held for the two stars, sponsored by Sunchro and Cavalor, with hurdles of 125 and 135 cm, which witnessed the brilliance of the UAE riders, as Salem Ahmed Al Suwaidi won first and third place, and Mabkhout Awaidah Al Karbi took second place, while British Christopher Fraser topped the second stage competitions, and Emirati Mufi Awaidah Al Karbi came second and Iranian Hamid Hajlo third.

The tournament will conclude this evening with two competitions on the outdoor track, the first with 150 cm hurdles sponsored by the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, with prizes of 60,000 euros, and the second for the Grand Prix with 155 cm hurdles sponsored by Longines, with prizes of 200,000 euros, which will witness the announcement of the finalists for the 2026 Show Jumping World Cup from the countries of the seventh regional group.
