المملكة: Implementing the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ programs to distribute dates and break the fast for fasting people in Ethiopia


In continuation of the efforts of Saudi Arabia in To serve Islam and Muslims and to promote the values ​​of solidarity, it established The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, represented by the Religious Attaché at the Embassy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Ethiopia, yesterday, Monday, held an official ceremony on the occasion of the implementation of the Gift of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques programs for distributing dates and breaking the fast for fasting people in the Republic of Ethiopia.

This came in the presence of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Ethiopia Abdullah bin Hassan Al-Zahrani, and the Religious Attaché at the Embassy Saud bin Mutileq Al-Ghuwairi, the President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Ethiopia, Dr. Ibrahim Tofa, Member of Parliament Muhammad Al-Arousi, and the President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Oromia Sheikh Ghali Mukhtar, along with a number of ambassadors of Arab and Islamic countries and a number of Islamic figures.

The ceremony included a visual film showing the efforts of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in implementing the programs of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in various countries of the world.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques

The amount of dates allocated for distribution is (20) tons, benefiting approximately (80,000) beneficiaries, while approximately (30,000) beneficiaries benefit from the Iftar program for those who are fasting.

On this occasion, Ambassador Al-Zahrani delivered a speech in which he pointed out that the implementation of the programs of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to break the fast of fasting people and distribute luxury dates in Ethiopia comes under the guidance of the wise leadership – may God protect them – and under the supervision and implementation of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, and that the two programs represent… Two gifts from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques – may God protect him – to his Muslim brothers on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan, and they are being implemented for the tenth year in a row.

He explained that the two projects aim to extend a helping hand and assistance to Muslims in this holy month, contribute to meeting some of their needs, and enhance the atmosphere of love and brotherhood among Muslims, which embodies the keenness of the wise leadership – may God support it – for Muslims to meet in an atmosphere filled with sincere love and brotherhood in A scene that enhances the unity, harmony and brotherhood of Muslims.

Ambassador Al-Zahrani extended his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them -, praising the ministry’s efforts in implementing these programmes.

Supporting thousands of needy families

For his part, Dr. Ibrahim Tofa delivered a speech in which he expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this generosity it provides to the Muslims of Ethiopia as part of Programs for breaking the fast and distributing dates, noting that this initiative has become an annual tradition that reflects the Kingdom’s interest in supporting Muslims around the world.

He explained that the program contributes to supporting thousands of needy families during the month of Ramadan, stressing that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has great and extended efforts in serving Islam and supporting Muslims through its humanitarian projects.

At the conclusion of his speech, he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them. God -, praising the efforts of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, and the Kingdom’s Embassy in Addis Ababa for their continued support.

Iftar program for fasting people

On the other hand, the religious attaché at the embassy explained that the program for breaking the fast for fasting people implemented by the Ministry was expanded this year to include about (30,000) fasting people, distributed over several regions, including the capital, Addis Ababa, the Afar region, and the Amhara region.

He added that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ gift of dates, amounting to (20) tons, included a number of Ethiopian regions.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance is implementing the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ program to distribute dates in (120) countries around the world, and the program for breaking the fast of fasting people in (70) countries during the month of Ramadan this year, within the framework of the continuous support provided by the Ministry under the supervision and follow-up of the Minister of Social Affairs. Islamic law, in line with the Kingdom’s mission to serve Islam and Muslims, meet their needs, and deepen the bonds of brotherhood and love with them in the month of goodness and giving.
