المملكة: The Kingdom before the Security Council: The Palestinian issue is the core of the conflict in the Middle East

It threw Saudi Arabia, on behalf of the Arab Group, delivered a speech during the emergency session of regarding the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, during which it confirmed thatremains the core of the conflict in the Middle East, and achieving just and lasting peace requires implementing the two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In a speech delivered by the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, the Kingdom renewed the Arab group’s rejection of settlement policies, land confiscation, forced displacement, and targeting of civilians, stressing the invalidity of all attempts aimed at Imposing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories or changing the legal and historical status of the city of Jerusalem and its holy sites.
Humanitarian Aid
It welcomed international efforts aimed at reaching a permanent ceasefire, including American efforts, stressing the importance of bringing humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip immediately, sustainably and without obstacles, and rejecting its use as a means of collective punishment or a tool for political pressure.
The Kingdom – on behalf of the Arab Group – called on the Security Council to assume its responsibilities in preserving International peace and security and the implementation of its relevant resolutions, including Resolution 2334, stressing the necessity of implementing international legal obligations in a way that contributes to protecting the Palestinian people and supporting opportunities for peace and stability in the region.
