Officially… Mbappe was excluded from the roster for Real Madrid’s match against Benfica

Alvaro Arbeloa, Real Madrid’s coach, announced his team’s list to face Benfica, this evening, in the Champions League second leg match, which witnessed the absence of the name of Frenchman Kylian Mbappe.
The French newspaper “L’Equipe” indicated that there were doubts about Mbappe’s participation in the match, due to pain in the left knee, while the newspaper “Marca” confirmed that the French star would be absent from the starting lineup.
Indeed, it was confirmed that Arbeloa excluded Mbappe, after the list announced by Real Madrid this afternoon did not include the name of the star who scored 38 goals this season.
After the list was announced, Spanish reports, most notably the AS newspaper, indicated that the French player would be absent until the problem with his left knee was completely resolved, with the aim of being fully ready for the round of 16 of the Champions League, if his team qualified, in the second week of March.
She explained that Mbappe is completely dissatisfied with the way his injury was dealt with, and he decided to find a final solution that would end his problems and allow him to go through the decisive phase of the season at his best.
Mbappe’s absence represents a major crisis for the royal team, which is seeking to secure its qualification to the round of 16 of the continental championship, especially since the Spanish team returned from Lisbon last week with an unsuspecting 1-0 victory in a match that witnessed exciting events.
