The International Family Medicine Conference and Exhibition kicks off on March 24 in Dubai

Dubai, February 25 / WAM / The activities of the thirteenth session of the International Family Medicine Conference and Exhibition (IFM) will begin in Dubai, which will be held from 24 to 26 March next year and is considered one of the most prominent global platforms for developing the primary health care system.

The organizing committee of the event announced the launch and publication of a strategic working paper entitled “Enhancing primary health care and health insurance integration in Dubai: a comprehensive framework for the system of outpatient diagnostic categories, telemedicine, and smart health,” in a qualitative step that reflects its commitment to supporting the development of the health care system locally and internationally.

The paper presents a model for a practical and integrated plan to support the transformation led by the Dubai Health Authority towards a value-based health care model through strategic initiatives, most notably the “Ejada” initiative, which aims to improve the quality of care and its health outcomes instead of focusing on the volume of services, while ensuring the efficiency of spending and enhancing community health as a top priority, with a focus on the general physician model to be the first and primary person responsible for health care and implementing the system of diagnostic kits for outpatients in an effective and advanced manner.

The working paper is the result of discussions held within the twelfth session of the International Family Medicine Conference and Exhibition and was prepared by Equivia, the leading global provider of advanced analytics, technology solutions and clinical research services (CRO), which served as the official knowledge partner for this scientific discussion and is available for immediate download via the Knowledge Center platform of the International Family Medicine Conference and Exhibition, allowing decision makers, doctors, specialists and stakeholders to benefit from its recommendations and strategic outcomes.

Dr. Ibtisam Al Bastaki, Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, said that the results of the working paper and discussions emphasize the importance of coordination between the application of the diagnostic categories system and the enhanced primary health care model, as this has a significant impact in enabling integrated care pathways to enhance prevention and early intervention, and ensuring that financing mechanisms support high-quality health care, which focuses on the patient’s health, to achieve the best clinical outcomes, provide equal access opportunities, and ensure the sustainability of the health system in the long term.

For his part, Dr. Bakul Mukherjee, a specialist in regulatory affairs and health policy, and Senior Director of the Real-World Evidence Department at Equvia, confirmed that the working paper outlines a comprehensive vision for the health care system, based on first access to the general practitioner, enhancing transparency in inpatient and outpatient costs, and innovation in the field of smart health, which sets a new global standard for fair and effective health care in Dubai.

He added that Dubai is working to shape a future in which primary care, digital intelligence, and unified insurance systems converge, to provide an integrated, seamless, data-based health journey for every resident in the emirate, which enhances the efficiency of the health system and ensures that all patients receive equal, high-quality care.

The International Family Medicine Conference and Exhibition (IFM) will be held in conjunction with the Dubai International Pharmacy and Technology Conference and Exhibition (DUPHAT 2026), and is organized by INDEX Conference and Exhibition Organisation, a member of INDEX Holding.
