“Bint Al-Numan”… social satirical stories on “Abu Dhabi” channel

The Syrian social comedy series “Bint Al-Numan” enjoys a remarkable presence during the current Ramadan drama season, and is shown on the “Abu Dhabi” channel, telling a story that takes place in the popular neighborhoods of Damascus, within thirty episodes in a connected-separate style.

The series, through its heroes: Salloum Haddad, Mohamed Oso, Samer Ismail, Riam Kafarneh, and a group of stars, reflects a social story with a human dimension, using comedy in its events as a smart tool to ask questions about the family, patriarchal authority, and the limits of individual freedom, employing a set of sarcastic and critical ironies in a story that tells an aspect of the stories of Syrian society.

The series “Bint Al-Numan” includes a wide range of Syrian drama stars, including: Sulafa Aweishq, Fadi Sobeih, Marah Jabr, Amal Saad Al-Din, Mustafa Al-Mustafa, Shadi Al-Safadi, and Muhammad Hamada. The work is written by Muhammad Owusu, produced by Vanterra, and directed by Saif Sheikh Naguib.

The artist Salloum Haddad plays the role of “Al-Numan”, playing a character characterized by strength and prestige. He is a man who is accustomed to having his word be the decision, and for life to go according to what he sees fit, believing that control is his way to maintain his position, but events reveal that every authority has limits, and every story has a hidden side.

Through the character “Lucky,” Oso reflects a mixture of wit and daily challenges, as he goes through dramatic and comedic transformations, and changes his appearance and lifestyle. To fit into the world of his wealthy lover, which opens the way for a series of funny and poignant situations at the same time. As for Reyam Kafarneh, she plays the character of “Aphrodite,” a spontaneous and lovable character who searches for her own world amid challenges. She is the wealthy girl who falls in love with “Lucky,” but she faces difficulties because of her domineering father, “Al-Numan,” a businessman who tries to control her decisions. While the artist Samer Ismail plays the role of “Zanzalakht”, a man of difficult tasks, as he carries many responsibilities and challenges within the dramatic context.
