During a phone call with the Head of State, the President of Azerbaijan confirms his country’s condemnation of the Iranian attacks on the territory of the Emirates
Abu Dhabi, 28 February / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, today received a phone call from His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during which they discussed the military escalation in the region and the serious threat it represents to its security and stability.
During the call, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan expressed his country’s condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks on the territory of the UAE and a number of sister countries, and its solidarity with the UAE in its defense of its land, sovereignty, and the security of its people… stressing that these attacks represent a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter… while His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his thanks to His Excellency Ilham Aliyev for Azerbaijan’s position in support of the UAE.
The two sides stressed that the dangerous and critical situation that the region is going through requires restraint and wisdom, stopping escalation, and resorting to dialogue in order to preserve regional security and stability.
