UAE air defenses handle 137 missiles and 209 drones

The Ministry of Defense announced that the Air Force and Air Defense of the United Arab Emirates have succeeded, since the beginning of the Iranian attack, in dealing with and destroying 137 ballistic missiles and 209 drones launched towards the country’s territory, confirming the high readiness of the air defense systems and their ability to deal with various threats.

The Ministry explained that since the start of the attack, 137 Iranian ballistic missiles were detected that were launched towards the state, with 132 missiles destroyed, while 5 of them fell into the sea waters. 209 Iranian drones were also monitored, and 195 of them were intercepted, while 14 of them fell inside the state’s lands and waters, and caused some collateral damage.

The Ministry indicated that, as a result of the effective response to the missiles and drones, some fragments fell in various areas of the country, causing minor material damage to a number of civilian objects.

The Ministry confirmed that the competent authorities immediately moved with full readiness and capabilities to deal with the situation in accordance with the procedures adopted in such cases, and the necessary measures were taken to ensure the safety of residents and secure the affected sites.
