Sharjah Electricity launches an initiative to install 750,000 water-saving devices in 45,000 homes

The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority announced the mechanisms for implementing a new initiative to rationalize water in the homes of citizens in the Emirate of Sharjah, which was launched by the Authority in implementation of the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, which aims to install more than 750,000 water rationalization units in more than 45,000 homes in various cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah.
Majid Huraimel Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Institutional Support at the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, said that the aim of the new initiative launched by the Authority is to enhance environmental sustainability and establish a culture of responsible use of resources, after the success achieved by the Home Rationalization Initiative, which targeted a specific segment of society in the Emirate of Sharjah, which included beneficiaries of the inflation allowance in the Emirate of Sharjah, pointing out that the mechanisms for implementing the new initiative include eight main points.
For his part, Rashid Al Marzouqi, Director of the Media and Communication Department at the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, confirmed that the launch of the new initiative confirms the authority’s keenness to take all measures that ensure water conservation and not wasting it, and to expand the base of beneficiaries from rehabilitating homes with modern water-saving technologies and reducing the value of bills.
