Appointment of cleric Ali Reza Arafi as a member of the Iranian Leadership Council

The Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) reported that cleric Ali Reza Arafi was appointed on Sunday as a member of the Iranian Leadership Council, a body charged with acting as the supreme leader until the Assembly of Experts elects a new leader.

Arafi, who is a member of the Guardian Council, will be part of the interim leadership council alongside President Masoud Pezeshkian and the head of the judiciary, Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei.
