4 people were injured when an oil tanker was targeted off the coast of the Sultanate of Oman

Muscat, March 1, 2018 (WAM): Four people were injured after an oil tanker was targeted north of Khasab Port in Musandam Governorate, north of the Sultanate of Oman.

The Omani Maritime Security Center announced, in a statement today broadcast by the Oman News Agency, that the oil tanker (SKYLIGHT), which carries the flag of the Republic of Palau, was targeted, 5 nautical miles north of the port of Khasab in the Musandam Governorate. It explained that its crew, consisting of 20 people, was evacuated, including 15 people of Indian nationality, and 5 people of Iranian nationality.

He stated that the wounded were transferred to receive the necessary treatment, noting that the rescue operations were carried out in coordination between various military, security and civil services, reflecting the readiness to deal with maritime accidents in the Sultanate of Oman.
