Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Majid Al-Hogail, conducted a field inspection of cultural and recreational activities in the historic Jeddah area, directing the strengthening of the logistical organization to manage crowds, to consolidate the region’s position as a vibrant international tourist destination, amid heavy public demand.

The Minister was accompanied during his inspection tour by the Secretary of the Jeddah Governorate, Saleh Al-Turki, and the General Supervisor of the Historic Jeddah Program, Abdulaziz Al-Issa, to ensure the integration of field efforts.

The tour also witnessed the presence of Deputy Mayor of Jeddah Governorate, Engineer Ali Al-Qarni, and the Head of the Sub-Balad Municipality, Ahmed Al-Shafi’i, to monitor the progress of organizational work.

Tours in historical alleys

The field tours of the Minister and his companions included the alleys of the historic region and its ancient squares, to closely examine the various programs that attract visitors daily.

The Ministry’s officials praised the activities and programs that brilliantly and masterfully blend the authentic Hijazi heritage with modern modern styles, to meet the taste of all segments.

Al-Hoqail listened during His field path to a detailed explanation of the scale of community interaction, and the increasing public demand witnessed by the historical squares from visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom.

In a related context, the Minister held a practical meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Pench Mark” Company, Zaki Hassanein, to review the events’ paths and the executive mechanisms followed at the site.

The two sides discussed the details of Careful logistical organization and management of large crowds, to ensure the provision of an integrated and safe tourist experience for visitors, while fully preserving the aesthetic and spatial value of the heart of Jeddah.

This high-level visit comes to confirm the continued close follow-up of efforts to develop the region, and to enhance its position as a major global platform for cultural events and programs throughout the year.
