Iran possesses American Tomahawk missiles

US President Donald Trump said that Iran possesses American Tomahawk cruise missiles when asked about the strike that targeted a girls’ school, which killed 165 people.

When asked whether the United States would bear responsibility for the strike, Trump said that the cruise missile, manufactured by the US defense company Raytheon, is sold and used by other countries and that Iran “also has some Tomahawk missiles.”

He added: “Whether it is Iran or any other party… the Tomahawk missile is a very general matter.”

While Raytheon sells the missile to allied countries such as Japan and Australia, there is no indication that Iran has acquired this missile.

When asked why he was the only person in his administration to make this claim, Trump replied: “Because I simply don’t know enough about it.”

He added: “Whatever the report shows, I am ready to live with what it concludes.”
