"Badge" Reviews features of life in the past

Abu Dhabi, 12 March / WAM / The sixteenth season of the “The Badge” program, produced by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Media Network, has witnessed a significant audience following since the launch of its episodes at the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, with viewers from various emirates of the country continuing to interact in heritage competitions.
The program maintains its position as one of the most prominent Ramadan programs specialized in presenting Emirati folklore, by asking questions and competitions that allow participants to test their knowledge about multiple aspects of local heritage, including customs and traditions, Emirati dialect vocabulary, Nabati poetry, popular proverbs, and inherited tales.
The program is presented by journalist Salama Al Muhairi, who interviews callers daily through a set of heritage questions that review features of life in the past, such as the history of castles and towers in the Emirates, and the details of the old Emirati house, in addition to introducing traditional professions and handicrafts that formed part of the daily life of the ancestors.
The program includes a number of daily and weekly segments and competitions that are widely followed by the public, including the “Poetic Puzzle” competition, the “Melody and Poem” competition, and the “Al Mandoos” competition, in addition to the council visits segment, the popular cooking competition, the “Jabbar Girls” competition, and the “Gator” competition, in addition to daily and weekly draws that award the winners with cash and in-kind prizes provided by the sponsors.
The program will continue to be shown daily on the Emirates Channel until the third day of Eid Al-Fitr.
The continuation of the program in its sixteenth season reflects the growing interest in heritage content in local media, and its role in enhancing awareness of national identity and connecting new generations with their cultural heritage through interactive content that combines knowledge and entertainment.
