The National Commission for Human Rights condemns and denounces the Iranian attacks on the lands of the Emirates

The National Commission for Human Rights expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the brutal Iranian military attacks that have targeted the territory of the United Arab Emirates since February 28, 2026, and considered them an assault on the sovereignty of the state and a blatant violation due to its serious effects on the human rights of all people present on the territory of the country.
The Commission confirmed in a statement that these actions constitute a grave violation of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, especially the rules prohibiting the use of force in a way that exposes civilians to danger and undermines basic guarantees for human protection and rights.
The Commission considered that the effects of these attacks extending to residential areas and civilian objects would result in a direct violation of a number of basic rights guaranteed by international human rights law, most notably the right to life, the right to personal security and safety, and the right to live in a safe environment. It stressed that exposing civilians to the dangers of military actions without taking into account the principle of distinction and precaution in all operations contradicts the rules of international law that require their protection and the preservation of their safety in all circumstances.
The Authority appreciated the exceptional efforts made by state institutions and competent authorities in managing these conditions, and the high readiness they demonstrated and integrated national coordination in protecting lives, preserving the safety of society, and the continuity of vital services.
In this regard, the National Commission for Human Rights praised the efforts made by the government of the United Arab Emirates to ensure that all those affected by these attacks receive, in a timely manner and without discrimination, emergency medical care, psychological support and appropriate assistance, appreciating the efforts of the consular authorities in the country regarding coordination and notification of foreign nationals who are killed or seriously injured, in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.
The National Commission for Human Rights expressed its deep sorrow for the loss of civilian lives, and offered its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured, and confirmed its continuous follow-up of developments in the situation.
In this regard, the National Commission for Human Rights announced that it will conduct field visits to hospitals and other facilities where those affected by these attacks receive assistance.
It indicated that it will proactively cooperate with international mechanisms related to human rights, and with counterpart national human rights institutions, to ensure accurate monitoring and systematic documentation of human rights violations resulting from these ongoing attacks, within the framework of its mandate to monitor human rights conditions and enhance their protection.
