Suhail Al Mazrouei: The supply and transportation system in the UAE operates with high efficiency within a proactive approach that enhances market stability

Abu Dhabi, 26 March / WAM / His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Chairman of the Supply and Transport Committee, confirmed that the transport system and supply chains in the UAE continue to work with high efficiency and regularity, within an integrated system that enjoys flexibility and readiness, ensuring the smooth movement of goods and services and the stability of markets, and reflects the country’s ability to deal efficiently with various regional variables.
His Excellency explained that this system is based on integrated national work led by the Supply and Transport Committee, which focuses on ensuring the continuity of supply chains and organizing the movement of freight in a way that meets the strategic needs of the country and enhances the efficiency of managing logistical flows.
He pointed to the pivotal role of the committee in developing and implementing flexible operational and regulatory mechanisms, which include following up on the movement of shipments and directing them through various routes, in coordination with federal and local authorities, in a way that enhances readiness and sustainability and raises the efficiency of the system in various circumstances.
He added that a national team specialized in the supply and transportation sector has been formed, which is responsible for managing shipping operations at the state level, promoting alternative routes, and monitoring markets continuously, in order to ensure the continuity of the efficient and stable flow of basic goods, and enhance the speed of response to urgent changes and challenges.
His Excellency said that the committee adopted a package of regulatory and supervisory measures, which included assessing the country’s needs for basic commodities, updating priority lists, and approving integrated operational plans in cooperation with port operators, covering handling, transport and storage operations, ensuring the continuity of trade flows without interruption.
He pointed out providing flexible facilities for licensing maritime and land transport companies, in addition to supporting transport and logistical services companies, in a way that enhances mobility efficiency and ensures continuity of services.
He stressed that the UAE has adopted a proactive approach in developing the supply system, by investing in advanced infrastructure, launching flexible initiatives, and strengthening partnerships with the private sector, as it is an essential pillar in operating and managing supply chains, which contributes to raising the efficiency of operations and accelerating response to changes.
His Excellency explained that the country’s ports have demonstrated high operational efficiency in dealing with the current circumstances, supported by advanced management systems and flexible capacity, in addition to applying precise regulatory procedures that include managing ship movement according to approved priorities, and submitting periodic operational reports, to ensure the smooth flow of operations and the continuity of the flow of goods. The readiness of marine assets on the eastern coast has also been raised and is operating at full capacity, to form a strategic logistical gateway that supports the continuity of trade and enhances the integration of the national network.
He added that the land and rail transport sector is witnessing the implementation of an integrated operational plan, which includes reorganizing routes and truck movement hours, and enhancing connectivity with storage centers, which contributes to accelerating the flow of goods and raising the efficiency of operations.
In a related context, His Excellency stressed the continued monitoring of the conditions of ships in territorial waters in coordination with the competent authorities, within an advanced regulatory system that guarantees the highest levels of safety and navigational security, pointing to the continued strengthening of regional integration with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to facilitate the movement of goods and enhance the flexibility of supply chains.
In an indicator that reflects the efficiency of performance and continuity of operations, the country’s ports have received more than 25,000 containers since the beginning of this month, which confirms the readiness of the logistics system and its ability to maintain a stable pace.
His Excellency stressed that these efforts embody an advanced Emirati model in supply chain management, based on proactiveness, integration and partnership, enhances economic security and consolidates the country’s position as a leading global center in the transport and logistics services sector.
