The ceremony – which was held at the headquarters of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination – was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Al-Humaidan, Director-General of the Authority, His Excellency Dr. Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al-Kaabi, Secretary-General of the National Media Authority, and Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO, Trends Center for Research and Consultation, where a cooperation agreement was signed between the three parties to launch the program, in a scene that reflects the integration of national efforts towards empowering people of determination in various fields.

This program is an extension of the Authority’s approach to moving from the concept of inclusion to true empowerment, by designing innovative initiatives that open new horizons for people of determination, and give them the necessary tools for effective participation in vital sectors, especially the media sector, as it is one of the most prominent engines of influence and awareness-raising in societies.

The launch of the program comes as a translation of the vision and directives of the wise leadership, which places people of determination at the heart of national development plans, and believes that empowering them in various sectors, especially media, represents an essential foundation for building a more comprehensive and sustainable society.

The “National Media Program to Empower People of Determination” aims to prepare media cadres of people of determination, qualify them to work in various fields of audiovisual and digital media, and enhance their effective participation in the national media industry.

The program seeks to support the production of media content that reflects the issues, ambitions and achievements of people of determination and to consolidate the positive image of people of determination in the media.

The program places as one of its goals the building of national partnerships between media, academic and research institutions to support the empowerment of people of determination and contribute to achieving the UAE’s goals in the field of societal inclusion and sustainable development and preparing a generation of media professionals capable of representing the country and conveying its humanitarian and civilizational message.

His Excellency Dr. Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Secretary-General of the National Media Authority, said during his speech during the ceremony: “Today we are not only launching a training program, but we are announcing the inauguration of a new phase of cultural leadership, in which we translate the vision of our wise leadership, which believes that the human being is the focus of development and its highest goal,” stressing that this path is an embodiment of a well-established national philosophy that sees empowerment as a moral responsibility, and investing in the capabilities of our children of determination as an essential pillar for building a future. A distinguished media outlet that does not exclude anyone, but rather accommodates all creative people.

His Excellency added that the media is the soft power that shapes awareness and tells the story of the nation, and therefore our real bet goes beyond the limits of moral support for people of determination, to empower them to be the makers of the message, and the participants in shaping the trends of media content efficiently and competently. We are moving today from the logic of “formal representation” to a more profound and mature vision, which believes that talent and merit are the only criterion for excellence in the digital and traditional media space.

His Excellency the Secretary-General of the National Media Authority pointed out that true empowerment is not only achieved by opening doors, but also by paving roads and providing tools that create a real and sustainable opportunity.

He said that our message today is clear: We do not distribute opportunities, but rather we build competencies, create capabilities, and establish solid career paths based on discipline and talent. The essence of this project is to enable people of determination to see themselves as having an active and influential role, not just beneficiaries, to be an integral part of our evolving media fabric.

His Excellency added that this program is the result of a unique national integration that combines the human dimension, research depth, and media professionalism. We at the National Media Authority view this project as a direct investment in the future of our national media. A media that does not open its doors to all energies capable of creativity is a media that limits its potential. Through this partnership, we create an incubating environment that makes the professional creativity of people of determination a practical, viable path that contributes to renewing the blood of our media message.

For his part, His Excellency Abdullah Abdul Ali Al-Humaidan, Director General of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, stressed that the National Media Program represents a qualitative leap in professional empowerment, by investing in the talents of people of determination and developing their capabilities in various fields of digital, traditional, audio and visual media, and opening real professional paths in the media sector, allowing them to engage in fields consistent with their passion, and enabling them to transform this passion into influential and sustainable professional creativity.

His Excellency added that the program relies on an integrated training system that combines the academic and practical aspects, and is based on learning by doing and producing actual media content, while integrating the latest technologies, including artificial intelligence, to ensure that the outputs are compatible with digital transformations in the media sector.

He pointed out that the Authority leads the implementation of the program through continuous supervision and evaluation, selecting participants according to clear criteria, and linking training to sustainable job opportunities, which contributes to the transition from symbolic representation to real professional empowerment, preparing a generation of media professionals of people of determination who are able to compete locally and globally, and contribute to shaping public opinion and promoting a more comprehensive and diverse media.

In turn, Dr. Muhammad Al-Ali, CEO of the Trends Center for Research and Consultation, confirmed that the center is proud to participate in this qualitative national program, pointing out that empowering people of determination in the media is not limited to training or vocational qualification only, but extends to building a knowledge and research base that contributes to developing media discourse and enhancing its impact.

He explained that the Trends Center will provide integrated research and scientific support for the program, including preparing studies, developing knowledge evidence, and providing the latest expertise in the fields of modern media, artificial intelligence, and content creation, in a way that enhances the efficiency of media cadres of people of determination, enables them to possess the tools of the future, and contribute effectively to formulating professional and influential media content that reflects their issues and ambitions.

He added that integration between scientific research and media represents one of the basic keys to building a more aware and comprehensive media system, capable of providing content based on knowledge and data, and that reflects societal diversity in a positive way, stressing that this program constitutes a practical model for this integration, and enhances the role of research institutions in supporting and developing vital sectors in the country.

The program includes an integrated package of qualitative initiatives and activities throughout the year, including specialized training programs, media forums, and innovative digital platforms, in addition to practical training opportunities within media institutions, which enhances participants’ readiness and supports their integration into the media labor market.

44 trainees of people of determination participate in the program, in a representation that reflects diversity and inclusion, in terms of gender, type of disability, and educational backgrounds, in addition to their geographical diversity, which enhances the richness of the training experience and supports the achievement of the program’s objectives.

This program confirms the position of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination as a leading national body in designing and implementing quality initiatives, which are not limited to providing services, but rather focus on building capabilities and empowering people, based on its belief that investing in people is the basic foundation for achieving comprehensive and sustainable development.
