The University of Sharjah records remarkable progress in the QS World Rankings for the year 2026

Sharjah, 31 March / WAM / The University of Sharjah has achieved remarkable progress in the (QS) global classification of specializations for the year 2026, with the inclusion of 20 specializations in the global classification, and recording a noticeable improvement in the ranking of a number of specializations compared to last year, which reflects a continuous process of development in its various academic fields.
The classification showed that the university achieved advanced positions globally after the specialty of petroleum engineering came in the category (51-100) globally, and dentistry came in the category (51-150), while the specializations of pharmacy and pharmacology, chemical engineering, and electrical and electronic engineering were ranked among the top 200 majors globally.
At the state level, the University of Sharjah topped the UAE universities in three specializations: nursing, dentistry, and economics, while it came in second place in a number of specializations, including business administration, biological sciences, engineering, education, computer science, law, and medicine, which reflects the breadth of its academic excellence.
In terms of the five main areas of the classification, the university recorded progress in all of them and was ranked 288th globally in social sciences and management, 370th in arts and humanities, 225th in engineering and technology, 357th in life sciences and medicine, and 357th in natural sciences.
His Excellency Dr. Essam El-Din Ajami, Director of the University of Sharjah, said that these results reflect an institutional process based on a strategic vision aimed at consolidating the university’s position as a leading academic and research institution regionally and internationally, stressing that what has been achieved represents a practical translation of this vision.
He added that the progress in most majors, in addition to the inclusion of new majors in the classification, reflects a comprehensive development in the university’s various colleges and programs, and confirms its commitment to achieving sustainable academic excellence.
He pointed out that this achievement comes as a result of joint efforts by the academic and administrative bodies and students, as the university continues to enhance the quality of education and scientific research and expand its international partnerships.
