المملكة: “Saudi Countryside” projects develop rose production and support farmers in Jazan


The Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program “Rural Saudi Arabia” revealed the achievement of Initiativesincluded establishing an extraction plant and nurseries in the “National Park” in Abu Arish, pointing out that work was temporarily halted at the “Rose Center” in Taif to complete some technical studies related to the project.

Al-Braikan indicated that the “Cities of Roses” project aims to develop agriculture Aromatic plants in Jazan and the introduction of new varieties, relying on rationalizing consumption through optimal exploitation of renewed water within non-traditional agricultural production.

He added that the project’s outputs produce a model open-air farm and protected houses managed with the latest control technologies, in addition to training young cadres of both sexes on modern methods of producing roses and developing methods for harvesting and transporting them.

Extracting roses and making use of their waste

The official spokesman touched on Rose extraction factory project, stressing that it aims to maximize the benefit from roses and their waste, through the implementation of an integrated building for packaging and extraction on a total area of no less than “2000” square metres.

He stressed that the factory will train farmers and engineers on modern oil extraction techniques, while providing a full explanation of their economic feasibility, and preparing attached service buildings to ensure operational efficiency.

He pointed out that the “Rose Center” project focuses on producing strong seedlings. And healthy, contributing to the preservation of varieties in the natural environment, the production of high-quality oils and the application of good agricultural practices to increase productivity.

This strategic movement comes within “Rif Saudi Arabia’s” ongoing efforts to develop the various agricultural sectors and raise their economic feasibility, with the aim of improving the lifestyle and enhancing food security to support the agricultural sector in the Kingdom.
