Emirates Horse Racing Authority: 971 horses participated in 26 trial races at the country’s tracks

Dubai, 1st April / WAM / The Emirates Horse Racing Authority announced the success of the “trial races” for purebred Arabian and crossbred horses at the various tracks in the country, with the participation of 971 horses in 26 races.

The Authority revealed in its report, today, on the occasion of the conclusion of the trial races, the gradual increase in the number of participants during the season, and the keenness of the owners and trainers for it, given the importance it represents in confirming the readiness of the horses.

Rashid Al Balushi, a member of the Authority’s supervisory committee, said that today’s final race for purebred Arabian horses on the Meydan track witnessed the participation of 5 horses in one race over a distance of 1,000 metres.

He pointed out that the success of the trial races confirms the Authority’s keenness to apply the best practices to maintain the development system, in line with the great growth of this sport, noting the keenness of the working teams to keep pace with the aspirations of the owners and trainers in establishing a professional approach to support the success of competitive events.
