The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture explained, as part of a campaign "Sweet in season" launched by; With the aim of raising awareness of various seasonal fruits, and raising the efficiency of the national production marketing system in seasons of abundance, local grapes are very popular among consumers, and their abundant production covers all local markets.

The Kingdom produces more than 128 thousand tons, and is distinguished by its desirable taste and high nutritional value, in addition to its vital role in various transformational industries, which makes it one of the most prominent fruits that support the economy, through high returns on its sale. And marketing it.

The Ministry stated that the grape production season is in July and August, and its cultivation is widespread in many regions and governorates, most notably Tabuk, Al-Qassim, Hail, Al-Jawf, Medina, Asir, and Taif Governorate, noting that the Kingdom embraces more than 6.3 million fruitful grape trees, whose production is characterized by high quality and great demand in the markets.

She added that grape cultivation in the Kingdom is witnessing remarkable development, thanks to Government support for farmers, adopting the use of modern technologies and good agricultural practices; Which contributed to increasing production, raising its efficiency and quality, indicating that its most famous varieties are Taifi, Halwani, Banati, Early Sweet, Crimson Seedless, Thompson Seedless, and Superior.

The multiplicity of local grape varieties contributes to extending its harvest period across the Kingdom’s regions, and diversifying its use, as it is used in many manufacturing industries and supporting the national economy, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The Ministry is keen "the environment" To empower farmers by providing a package of support and services that include: guidance and technical guidance, financing facilities, and expanding the application of modern agricultural technologies; Which contributes to raising production efficiency and quality.
