Correction and rehabilitation centers in Abu Dhabi obtain the international ISO certificate in facilities management

The correctional and rehabilitation centers in the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department obtained a certificate of compliance with international quality standards for the “ISO” 41001:2018 specification in the facilities management system, in a qualitative achievement that reflects its commitment to applying the best international practices in the management and operation of facilities, and raising the efficiency of the infrastructure supporting the correctional and rehabilitation system.

The Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, Counselor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, explained that obtaining this international certificate confirms the success of the ongoing development efforts to improve the work system within the correctional and rehabilitation centres, by adopting integrated facilities management systems based on the highest standards of quality, sustainability and risk management, ensuring the provision of a safe and integrated environment that supports reform and rehabilitation programs in accordance with the highest professional standards.

He pointed out that this international accreditation comes in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Presidential Office, and Head of the Judicial Department, to improve the quality of systems and enhance the efficiency of institutional performance, in a way that consolidates the competitiveness of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and its leadership in developing an advanced judicial and reform system based on sustainability and innovation.

Al-Abri stressed that implementing the requirements of the ISO standard contributed to enhancing the efficiency of asset and facility management, improving resource utilization, and raising levels of operational readiness, by adopting clear preventive policies, managing risks, and measuring performance indicators, in a way that achieves integration between operational and administrative aspects and enhances the quality of services provided.

In addition, this achievement embodies the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department’s keenness to sustain institutional development in its various sectors, in a way that enhances the integration of the justice system and establishes an advanced correctional environment that contributes to supporting community security and achieving the Abu Dhabi government’s goals of excellence and institutional quality at the international level.

It is noteworthy that the ISO 41001:2018 standard is an international framework specialized in facilities management systems, aiming to enable organizations to develop effective and sustainable work environments, by adopting modern methodologies for managing infrastructure and supporting services, and ensuring compliance with international best practices in the areas of governance, operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
