The Community Development Authority in Dubai wins the Social Excellence Award for initiatives that enhance family and community cohesion
DUBAI, 9 APRIL/WAM / The Community Development Authority in Dubai won first place in the Social Excellence Award in its fifth session in recognition of its efforts in designing and implementing qualitative community initiatives that enhance the quality of life and consolidate national values and identity in the UAE.
This award reflects the Authority’s leadership position in developing innovative models of community work that are based on proactiveness and institutional integration and contribute to supporting the cohesion of the Emirati family and enhancing community cohesion in line with the objectives of the “Dubai Social Agenda 33”.
This honor came during a ceremony held in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah for two pioneering initiatives that reflect the Authority’s approach to social innovation. The “Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Family Program” won first place in the category of Best Social Initiative in the Year of Society – Institutions, while the “Dubai Neighborhood Councils” initiative won in the category of Outstanding Social Initiative in Promoting National Identity – Institutions.
The ceremony was attended by the Community Development Authority, Mashhour Al Shamsi, Director of the Strategy and Institutional Performance Department, Dr. Naima Al Shamsi, Director of the Family Development Department, and Ahmed Al Rumaithi, Head of the Social Councils and Centers Department, in confirmation of the integration of institutional efforts that lead these qualitative initiatives.
The Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Family Program embodies a pioneering national model that places the family at the heart of development priorities through an integrated system to empower young people and support them in establishing a stable family life.
The program offers a comprehensive package of qualitative initiatives, including psychological and social rehabilitation to enhance family communication and awareness of family relationships, financial education that prepares young people to manage resources effectively, in addition to financial and housing support that gives them the ability to move forward with confidence and stability, thus enhancing the quality of life and consolidating the foundations of societal stability.
The “Dubai Neighborhood Councils” initiative represents an effective community platform that works to enhance communication between community members and consolidate the values of belonging and national identity by providing interactive spaces and quality events that bring together neighborhood members and support daily social interaction.
The initiative contributes to rebuilding neighborhood relations and strengthening family ties within a sustainable approach that places the person and the family at the heart of development, enhances social cohesion and creates an integrated and stable community environment.
This achievement is the culmination of an institutional approach in which the Community Development Authority focuses on social innovation and strengthening partnerships with government agencies and the private sector, which contributes to developing sustainable solutions to societal challenges and improving the quality of life in the emirate.
This win also reflects the Authority’s continuation of establishing a pioneering government model in social work based on efficiency and integration, which enhances Dubai’s position as an advanced global destination in terms of quality of family life and community stability.
