Ajman, April 10 / WAM / The Department of Economic Development and the Ajman Free Zones Authority discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation to activate dual licensing, in a way that supports the regulation of the activities of free zone establishments within the Emirate of Ajman, and consolidates institutional integration in developing the business environment, during a meeting held at the Authority’s headquarters.
This cooperation comes within the framework of implementing the provisions of Resolution No. (18) of 2025 regarding regulating free zone establishments’ practice of their activities within the Emirate of Ajman, which sets the regulatory framework to enable free zone establishments to carry out some of their activities outside the free zone and inside the emirate, in accordance with specific controls and procedures, and in a way that ensures compliance with relevant federal and local legislation, after reviewing other practices in the country.
The meeting discussed a number of topics related to the mechanisms for activating dual licensing, simplifying the procedures associated with it, and unifying efforts in a way that contributes to facilitating the practice of business for establishments wishing to expand within the emirate, whether through establishing a branch of the establishment within the emirate, establishing a branch for it through its headquarters approved by the Authority, or issuing permits to practice some activities within the emirate, in accordance with what was regulated by the decision.
The meeting also discussed the importance of building a joint working mechanism between the two sides based on eliminating bureaucracy, which increases the efficiency of procedures, speeds up the completion of transactions, and enhances the flow of the customer’s journey, in addition to supporting establishments and investors who wish to benefit from the regulatory advantages provided by dual licensing within a flexible and stimulating business environment.
The two sides affirmed their keenness to continue coordination during the next phase, in a way that enhances the readiness of the regulatory and executive system to implement the dual license, supports attracting investments, and contributes to consolidating the position of the Emirate of Ajman as a competitive destination for business and investment, in line with the directions of the Ajman government in developing services and achieving sustainable economic development.
