Announcing the details of the fifth season of "DBworld ILT20" For cricket

Dubai, April 13 / WAM / Today, the DB World T20 International Cricket League, the second most watched T20 tournament in the world, announced the start of the fifth season on Sunday, November 22, 2026, with the final being held on Sunday, December 20, 2026 at the Dubai International Stadium.
Six teams will participate in the tournament, playing 34 matches, with the participation of an elite group of the most prominent T20 cricket stars, while the competitions will conclude with the final match being held at the Dubai International Stadium.
The tournament had moved to the December window in the fourth season, after the first three seasons were held during the period from January to February, where the fourth season witnessed great success in terms of public and television viewing rates. The final match of the fourth season was held on January 4, 2026, at Dubai International Stadium, in the presence of a full audience, and the “Desert Vipers” team won its first title after defeating “MI Emirates” by 46 points.
David White, CEO of the DB World T20 International League, confirmed that determining the window for the fifth season represents an important step to continue the success of the tournament, noting that the competitions will be held during the period from November 22 to December 20, 2026.
He said that the success of the fourth season in terms of viewership, audience interest, and the participation of the most prominent cricket stars contributed to enhancing the tournament’s standing and developing its technical level.
He added that the league continues to make great strides through its strategic partnerships with the Saudi Cricket Federation and the Kuwait Cricket Association, which have begun to achieve a tangible impact, explaining that these partnerships will be strengthened through development tournaments held in the two countries before the start of the fifth season.
He pointed out that the players’ auction for the fourth season achieved great success, with preparations for holding the new season’s auction, in addition to announcing new initiatives and surprises in the coming days.
The fourth season witnessed the participation of a number of the most prominent stars of T20 cricket, including Sam Curran (Desert Vipers), winner of the tournament’s best player and best batsman, Waqar Salamakhil (MI UAE), winner of the best bowler award, and Mohammed Waseem, winner of the best Emirati player award.
The tournament also included an elite group of international stars, including Andre Russell, Azmatullah Omarzai, Dinesh Karthik, Pathum Nissanka, Fakhar Zaman, Jason Holder, Jason Roy, Kieron Pollard, Moeen Ali, Muhammad Nabi, Naseem Shah, Nicholas Pooran, Phil Salt, Rahmatullah Gurbaz, Romario Shepherd, Shakib Al Hasan, Sikandar Raza, and Sunil. Narain, Tim David, and Tim Southey.
