General Authority of Roads The road network leading to Mecca includes a number of main axes linking various regions of the Kingdom with the Holy Capital; This contributes to facilitating the movement of the guests of God, and raising the efficiency of arrival during the Hajj season.
Different ways to serve pilgrims
It showed "Roads Authority" That this RoadsInclude the Hijra Road, which connects Medina to Mecca, with a length of 420 km, and is considered one of the most important roads that witness a high traffic density during the season because it connects the Grand Mosque to the Prophet’s Mosque.
She indicated that Al-Layth Road connects the southern regions of the Kingdom to Mecca, with a length of 90 km, while Al-Sail Al-Kabir Road contributes to connecting Taif Governorate with Mecca, with a length of 80 km. Which enhances the flow of Traffic movement.
She added that the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road, which connects the city of Jeddah to Makkah Al-Mukarramah with a length of 70 km, is considered one of the modern roads that support the connection between the two cities, while the Aqabat Al-Hada Road connects Taif Governorate with Makkah Al-Mukarramah with a length of 23 km, and is characterized by its mountainous nature.
An interconnected network to facilitate transportation
The authority confirmed that these roads represent part of an interconnected network that contributes to providing service. Guests of God, by facilitating their movement between different regions, and raising the level of safety and operational efficiency on the roads leading to Mecca.
It stated that the authority continues to develop and improve the road network according to the highest standards, to keep pace with the increasing demand for roads, and contribute to achieving the goals of the road sector program, in a way that enhances the quality of life and facilitates the journey of the Guests of God.
